Thank you, Euskampus Eguna

Euskampus Eguna took place on 29th November at the Bilbao Engineering School. Promoted by Euskampus Fundazioa, it sought to continue structuring and consolidating the collaborations between the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, TECNALIA and DIPC research groups, driving the Euskampus Poles of Knowledge, areas of collaborative reflection and research that focus on the subjects in the collaboration agenda.

The Rector of the UPV/EHU, Nekane Balluerka and the Managing Director of Tecnalia, Iñaki San Sebastián, opened the event, after which the JRL-ORE agreement (Joint Research Laboratory in Offshore Renewable Energy) was signed by UPV/EHU, Tecnalia and BCAM.

The launch of the JRL-ORE seeks to strengthen the research ties between the parties in order to take advantage of synergies between them and to reach the critical mass in the agreed scientific and technological areas. It aims to increase the level of the research results in terms of impacting the business world and society in general.

The JRL-ORE was created from the ambition to grow and extend to other agents and fields of action, aiming for the results of the research to have a greater impact.

Dr. Jan Alexandersson, the Head of the DFKI (German Centre for Artificial Intelligence) Competence Centre on Ambient Assisting Living then gave a lecture on co-creation in complex projects.

The fourth meeting of the co-creation teams and the workshops for the 6 Poles of Knowledge then took place, covering Marine Energy, Industry 4.0, Aquatic and Terrestrial Ecosystems, Data Science and Digitalisation, Health Sciences and Technologies, and New Materials.

The event was closed with an assessment of the challenges expressed in the co-creation meetings, setting the stage for new meetings and collaboration spaces.

Many thanks to all who took part; we hope to see you again at future events.
