The election to choose the new Chancellor of the University of the Basque Country will take place on 24 November. Voting will open from 9am to 6pm. In the end there is only one official candidate: Nekane Balluerka (Professor of the Behavioural Science Methodology Department and currently Vice-Chancellor for Post-graduate Studies and International Relations). As there is only one candidate, voters will have to vote in favour or blank, and in order to be elected the candidate will have to get 33% of positive votes. The counting will not be based on the number of votes, but on percentages, according to the different university groups. Permanent Doctoral Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), made up of about 2,200 people, account for 56.25% of the votes. Non-Doctoral PDI, about 315 people, account for 7.5%. Other PDI, about 3,000 people, represent 2.09%. The student body, made up of just over 40,000 people, holds 22.08%. And Administrative and Service Staff (PAS), made up of about 1,900 people, represent 12.08%.

Azaroaren 24an, errektorea aukeratzeko hauteskundeak egingo dira Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatean, 09:00etatik 18:00etara. El próximo 24 de noviembre se celebraran las elecciones a rector o rectora en la Universidad del País Vasco, pudiendo participar en ellas entre las 9:00 y las 18:00. Una vez llevado a cabo la proclamación definitiva de las candidaturas, la de Nekane Balluerka (catedrática del área de Metodología de las Ciencias del Comportamiento y actualmente vicerrectora de Estudios de Posgrado y Relaciones Internacionales) es la única que ha adquirido carácter definitivo. En este sentido, habiendo una única candidatura, solo se prevé la posibilidad de votar a favor o en blanco, y para ser elegida, la candidata deberá contar con un 33% de votos afirmativos.  El recuento de la votación no se realizará en función del número de votos, sino de porcentajes, atendiendo a los distintos colectivos universitarios. Así, el Personal Docente e Investigador (PDI) doctor permanente, formado por unas 2.200 personas, reúne un 56,25% del porcentaje de voto. El PDI no doctor permanente, unas 315 personas, reúne un 7,5% del voto. Otro PDI, que abarca a unas 3.000 personas, 2,09% del voto. El alumnado, compuesto por algo más de 40.000 personas, mantiene un 22,08% de voto. Y el Personal de Administración y Servicios, con casi 1.900 personas, recoge un 12,08% del voto.

Tecnalia is leading the Ecoleban project, which aims to improve the sustainability of the leather industry in Bangladesh, a vital sector for the country's economy. As this industry is highly polluting and has harmful effects, the Ecoleban project aims to increase the amount of sustainable companies manufacturing leather products that pollute less and use resources more efficiently, by implementing environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and best practices in the SME sector.

Tecnaliak Ecoleban proiektua zuzentzen du, Bangladesheko larrugintza sektorearen iraunkortasuna hobetzea helburu duen egitasmoa. Larrugintza sektorea funtsezkoa da herrialdearen ekonomiarako, baina kutsadura izugarria eta ondorio kaltegarriak sortzen ditu. Hori ikusirik, Ecoleban proiektuaren xedea da hain kutsatzaileak ez diren larruzko produktuak fabrikatzeko enpresa iraunkorrak sortzea, baliabideak modu eraginkorragoan erabiliko dituztenak, ETEen sektorean ingurumena kudeatzeko sistemak (ISO 140001) eta jardunbide egokiak ezarriz.

Tecnalia lidera el proyecto Ecoleban, un proyecto para mejorar la sostenibilidad del sector del cuero en Bangladesh, un sector vital en la economía del país. Al tratarse de un sector muy contaminante y con efectos nocivos, el proyecto Ecoleban pretende aumentar el número de empresas sostenibles que fabriquen productos de cuero menos contaminantes y más eficientes en el uso de recursos, por medio de la implementación de sistemas de gestión ambiental (ISO 140001) y buenas prácticas del sector en las PYMEs.
